Welcome to

Horsham Special School

Horsham Special School is a Child Safe School committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all its students and staff, including LGBTQI+ students and staff.

Principals Welcome

At Horsham Special School, our motto is Celebrating Diverse Abilities. We believe that every student, staff and community member is unique with skills and talents to offer the local and global community in which we live. Our school provides educational programs for students aged 5-18 years displaying mild; moderate and severe diagnoses associated with cognitive, physical, social, emotional, behavioural, sensory and multiple disabilities.

The base criteria to enrol at Horsham Special School is Intellectual Disability with eligibility for the Program for Students with Disabilities through the Department of Education and Training. We have a wide enrolment base, drawing from the local area to as far as the South Australian border including Nhill, Dimboola, Kaniva, Goroke, Edenhope and Serviceton. Our current enrolment is just over 90 students and growing.

We are very lucky to come to school each day in a new, purpose built, award winning environment. The school won a Victorian Education Planners Award for the entire school building and an Australasian Education Planners Award for our fantastic sensory courtyard. Welcome to our website! We hope you explore all of the site to find out about our day to day programs and exciting special events occurring this year.
